<p>Hi, I scored a 700 in Cr and a 660 in writing my last practice test. I know you are aiming much higher than that, but maybe I can still give you some tips. For writing I have to say they test the same rules over and over. If you spend a little time reading up on it the rules aren’t hard to learn. Try Silverturtles guide here: <a href=“Silverturtle's Guide to SAT and Admissions Success - SAT Preparation - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/955109-silverturtles-guide-to-sat-and-admissions-success.html</a> he has good tips on the writing and Cr. Also don’t underestimate “hearing” the mistakes. If something doesn’t sound right it’s probably not. This might be a little harder if English isn’t your first language. In which case I would suggest searching online for a lot of different tips and rules and learning them thoroughly. Take a good look around CC and I also like PWN the SAT <a href=“Writing – PWN Test Prep”>Writing – PWN Test Prep; he has great stuff for the writing section and Cr section. As for tips for the Cr section I’d just say practice, practice, practice. Make sure you practice on official College Board tests though. Get the Official College Board book or try the College Board online course and use those Cr sections. You can also find old tests online for free just make sure they are 2005+ Try out different strategies such as underlining key sentences or writing short summaries of each paragraph. Find what works for you. If you are having trouble with the vocab section try McGraw-Hill’s SAT prep book. They have a great list of vocab words. Don’t forget about downloading SAT prep apps onto your phone. Some suck, but others help a lot. I loved SAT Vocab by MindSnacks, definitely worth it. Hope that helps! Oh and do you have any tips for the math section? I only got 640 on my last test and I want to get it up to 700+. Please and thank you! </p>
