There’s been a very famously cited Princeton study that STATISTICALLY PROVES that the average salary of the Ivy League graduate and the average salary of the state-school grad that had a chance to go to an Ivy makes over the course of a lifetime the same salary.

There is one group of students that even Krueger and Dale found benefited significantly from attending elite schools: those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Kids from poor families seem to profit from exposure to Amherst or Northwestern much more than kids from well-off families.
