Incoming Class is Huge, Both Literally and Figuratively

From the Tulane web site regarding move-in day this Friday:

The first-year class includes 1,849 students – that’s more than 100 above last year’s record-setting class. Tulane is one of the most geographically-diverse universities in the country with 85 percent of the students traveling more than 300 miles to attend. The new class features students from 47 states with the majority hailing from New York (258), Louisiana (227), California (204), New Jersey (140), Massachusetts (135) and Illinois (135).

The group also includes 79 international students hailing from such countries as Australia, Burma, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Panama, Russia, The Bahamas, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
