My D’s portal had “admitted” today and we are OOS. Kelley Petition Request made in early September.

Sometime this afternoon but I do not know what time exactly.
I applied on 11/1 as Merchandising major. I kind of want to switch to being a business major and minor in apparel merchandising. Is there anyway to change that? My application status says applicant. My stats are 3.44W/3.21UW. Do you guys think I should try to DA to Kelley? I have one cousin that recently graduated from Kelley as a finance major, I have another cousin at Kelley who is finishing up his senior year who is also a finance major, and I have another cousin who’s a freshman and he’s trying to get into Kelley. Do you think it’s possible to get a recommendation letter from them to try and get me in? Should I fill out the review request form even though I didn’t put business as my major? Please help I’m stressing!!!

OOS, Political Science, 3.6 UW GPA, 4.5 W GPA, 1340 SAT. I applied August 31st.

My son was admitted last night from OOS. He applied 8/12. His portal still says exploratory pre business, so we don’t know about the Kelly part yet.

No email yet. The portal update says to expect an email within a week that provides more information.
What Plan does your son’s portal say? Our D’s portal has Marketing BSB so I assume she was admitted to Kelley at IU Bloomington. I guess the email in a week or so will confirm.

That Plan part reads: Business Exploratory BSB. The Program says University Div Pre-Business. He applied Business exploratory. And he’s got numbers that make me unsure whether he would be a Kelly direct admit or not (29 ACT composite, 31 superscore). I’m unsure of whether we will need to do a Kelly petition or not, was hoping to get clarification with his admission.

Oh that means he wasn’t a direct admit. You’ll have to petition but he’ll get in once he petitons!

Kelley is a separate admission and separate admission materials - will be interested to track when you receive information whether it includes Kelley as that was the University plan originally. This is the first class for IU where you might receive University admission at same time as Kelley.
I’ve beaten this drum a lot here - but you may receive a Kelley admit with the portal still showing pre-biz and you may receive nothing yet with the portal showing Marketing BSB. That is not indicative of Kelley admission.
