<p>I went through a large Asian supermarket that I have recently discovered and since I was waiting for my kid to finish his activity (killing time I had plenty of time to read the labels.
I was shocked. Completely shocked.
I have long considered asian food to be healthy, fresh etc. Turns out that most of the foods there are loaded with preservatives! Sodium benzoate in everything. Fresh noodles, fresh foods that you have to keep in the fridge, frozen foods, I am not even going to mention canned. I was especially shocked by fresh noodles, stored in a fridge.
Lots of added colour, spices listed as ingredients - who knows what considers a spice nowdays???
I have long loved asian/chineses kitchen but this was a shocking discovery.
Any comments from asian dishes lovers?</p>
