Inexpensive place to buy furniture?

DonnaMom, I do not remember where you are from, but this is what I did last year. I watched our local resale stores where I bought a love seat, two wicker chairs, a coffee table and an end table. Then we rented a panel van to drive all the stuff to Pittsburgh ( DD called it a perv van, so clever). Then we ordered a new mattress, box springs, and frame at our local Sears, but had it delivered after move-in. They brought is in and set it up; that alone was worth $100 to me. There was only $50 difference between double and queen, so we bought the bigger bed.

Once everything was in, we took an Ikea run with the van and bought a desk and those bookcase things that you can buy baskets to fit in kind of like drawers to use instead of a dresser. We probably spent about $1200 total, but the bed was $500 of that.

The good news? This year, she is just moving to an upstairs apartment and I do not have to lift a finger.
