While this may not directly answer your question, it might help with your decision;
I think UCI would be a great pick for you since you’re making such a huge change of location anyways. I live in irvine, and i must say it is one the nicest places to live in. it has been ranked the safest city in U.S., and the are many asians here too. I think that would really ease up the big move too, it would be easier on you overall. & there are several huge tech companies here in irvine, and google opened something up here as well (might be intern). Next to google, there is broadcom, and blizzard. Thats just on top of my head, but it is by no means a “silicon valley” replacement. But if i was in your shoes, i’d go with uci.
