<p>I’m not a computer savvy person, but the internet in Max is fast and dependable. We have wireless and ethernet, but people use ethernet while at their desks in order to put less strain on the network. The U of C is obsessed with student privacy, so they generally don’t like to get involved in file sharing problems. This isn’t just a University - student issue, though. The University can get in trouble for allowing file sharing, so they’ll give you a warning and then a fine (I think) if your downloading or sharing a lot of material. They sent out an email earlier this year reminding students not to file share. Basically, keep it to a minimum, don’t download new TV shows right after they’re shown, and don’t share, and you should be fine.</p>
