As Brown does not offer an Early Action option, my D applied RD to Brown and EA to Yale. She would have applied EA to Brown, if an option. Ironically though, Brown was the first and only university (out of 12) thus far to contact her for an interview. She had the interview, and the alum mentioned that it was his first this year and that Brown wanted him to perform such for her by the end of November. That of course made it sound like he thought she was as an ED applicant. My D thus went back and made sure that the Common Application correctly listed it as RD for Brown. Meanwhile… she has had no contact regarding an interview from Yale, despite her being an early applicant there. We are thankful that she had her Brown interview and that it went well, but we are also hopeful that she did not take the spot of an ED applicant in our area who may not be interviewed as a result. Or maybe it is simply the case that the ratio is better in our area (Tampa) for Brown versus Yale in terms of alum available to interview applicants. Either way, I have to give Brown a lot of credit for their efficiency thus far in the application process.
