Int'l Relations Major

The English dept. is actually really good from my understanding. My friend is an English major and has loved it. It is known for amazing professors and awesome mentoring (I believe plenty of faculty in the dept are known for their mentoring). Emory is a legit place to be a writer. Various publications do not lie about this. It’s a combination of starpower, great teaching/mentoring, and things like our rare books collections that make us awesome for English/Creative Writing oriented students. By the way, Ismaylov (someone I cited in another thread) is really into writing and pre-med, so people like her can serve as role models for students with these dual interests. Perhaps she’s really good in even the most rigorous science classes because of her creativity. The girl is so intense that some sort of film will be based upon one of the books she wrote. She is also a founding member of the Emory Pulse. Point is, we have talent in the area of writing and it doesn’t necessarily localize itself to the English dept.
