Plus, the media and the title of this thread proves in droves that this is not about honor by perpetuating a myth.

This student did not invent a single thing - all he did was disable and reassemble in a different form something that was already invented and working AND actually being SOLD in stores. There was absolutely nothing invented here and it just shows how politically correct the media and some people are by maintaining this falsehood of inventing.

The honorable thing to do was for the student and parents to acknowledge it was an old Radio Shack clock in a standard brief case, not something he invented. If I did something like this, my parents would have punished me to high heaven for lying that I did something I did not.

It’s been hinted at that this kid has had a long disciplinary history at school but the school could never mention it due to confidentiality. I think now that they are suing his record will have to be disclosed (at least to the court if not to the public). This will be an interesting case to watch…
