Investment for my lump sum

The association says you are not allowed. So…you are NOT allowed to rent it out the way that you would like to. Don’t break the rules.

Aside from the townhouse, you need a plan for the remainder of your money. If it is above a certain amount, you can get good free investment advice from reputable firms such as Fidelity; Vanguard; and T Rowe Price. With so much tied up in the house, they will likely tell you the rest should be spread out among conservative investments.
Best of luck

Cancelled it last week.
Felt unsecured about my future and not sure about to be a landlord, live with tenant under one roof.
I think I need more time to figure my life style for the future. But anyway, job training is the most important. I hope I can support myself, financially, within 3 years, my goal.
Thank you all for the helpful suggestions.

^ Congratulations on making the right choice!!!

I dreamed about the house every night.

BBM- Wishing you all the best as you move forward. You are opening many doors for yourself by not tying a lot of $ up in a property right now. It will leave you with more energy to pursue your immediate goals. Good luck!

“Cancelled it last week. Felt unsecured about my future and not sure about to be a landlord, live with tenant under one roof.” - I think you made a good decision here, but I know that for the short term it will hurt a bit to loose that 1st dream. Best wishes for a happy future!

Judging by how slow RE sales are in my neck of the woods and the lack up upward mobility in prices, you will probably be able to buy a house in a couple of years, have an income from your new job and NOT have to take in any renters.

Bigbearmom - congratulations on a thorough investigation of your options. I think you made a wise decision. All the best for your future.

Phew! Crisis averted! So glad you listened to your cyber CC friends!!! Good luck for the future - I think you are taking a wise course. :)
