Congrats!!

Thanks! What about you? Any news yet?

Ahh!! Now I’m so excited/scared to hear from them.
But then again, I’m in NY so it’ll probably take another day or two.

Good luck to all of you! And congrats Sesquipedalians!

OMG congrats! Honored am I to have conversed with an Iowa acceptee. bows

Aw, and I don’t know yet, and I’d like to stay pessimistic, which might keep me in an Eeyore-ish mood for a few more days. Eh, snail mail.

My son hasn’t heard anything yet. We are on the east coast so I guess today or tomorrow, something should arrive.
I’m almost positive though that he will go to Kenyon wither way since the scholarship is already in place and the dates fit well with other possible summer plans. I’m just hoping that he gets accepted to a program that evaluated an actual writing sample. It will be a big confidence boost for him.

Awww…shucks.

Maybe it had something to do with my last-minuteness. Or maybe I’m just, eh, not good enough. Probably won’t count on the waitlist, though…

Oh well. Mathcamp here I come lol! But congrats to all who did! It was a delight talking on this thread. I might even be inspired to try again next year haha! ;)

Rejected. =/ I got accepted by Sewanee but this really messes up all of my other summer plans. I guess I’ll wait on Kenyon until I make another decision, but Sewanee won’t stop calling my house.

Congratulations to those who made it. =)
There’s no waitlist for Iowa, btw.

My son wasn’t accepted either. But he can try again next year since he’s only a sophomore. At least now he knows that he needs to put some effort into his submission due to the competition. I think he got into Kenyon based on the amazing rec from his English teacher.
Congrats to all of the accepted students.

just accepted to iowa for session 2!
i’m so excited. congrats to the other acceptees!

@ephemeros
I got in too for the second session! See you there!

I’m in for session 2 as well! Looking forward to meeting you acceptees - and to the rejected, best of luck! Hopefully you can apply again next year and you’ll still have a great summer!

I’m hesitating in regards to which course to take. They all sound so promising! What do you think @ Corcey and ephemeros? Nick or Madeline?

Oh god, I don’t know! I think I’m going to put in for the poetry course, and second choice adam’s creative writing. Or jenny’s. I really have no clue what to do! There should be a facebook group, though, for session 2.

Here, I found this for Iowa Session 2:
[Welcome to Facebook - Log In, Sign Up or Learn More](<a href=“Facebook - log in or sign up”>Facebook - log in or sign up)

yeah, I saw it too, and I RSVPd.
I think somebody should make a group though, considering you can’t really see who is going through the event. Not sure what that is about, but anyway.
The only major downer is that deathly hallows part 2 comes out on the 15th, and I was planning on going to the midnight premier! lol.

If you make a group, I’ll join, and this is special because I usually never join groups (I get really irritated by people obsessively doing so)
Yeah, I’m wayy behind on my Harry Potters (movie wise - otherwise I’m all caught up!), so that’s not too big a problem for me. But Iowa City probably has a cinema?

I’m thinking about creative writing with Anjali or fiction with Madeline.

I put Nick as my first and Madeline as my second. Enrollment form’s been sent off. Summer yet?

here’s the group!

I’m completely new at facebook groups, so I had no idea what I was doing. But join it anyway!

Okay, I just joined! Apart from you, ephemeros, do we have any retransmissions? (in case that doesn’t make sense, is there anyone on collegeconfidential who’s also in the group?

Hey everyone! I’ve read through this thread countless times and I am inspired by it every time! Congrats to everyone who has made it in previous years, and good luck to those who are applying again. I applied last year but didn’t make the cut. I am really going for it this year and I’m putting a lot of work into my writing sample. Anyone else applying this year? If so I’d love to hear from you, 'cause who knows, maybe we’ll meet up in Iowa!
