<p>Well if we look at the middle 50th percentile at Harvard, yale, and princeton the average is about a 750 on each section. So 2250 is the average score. That means that half the people who get in have less than that score. The bottom 25% is at about a 2100 for those three schools. So to be safe…i would say 2100+ puts you in the running.
As for the other ivies, the averages are a little bit lower than that. So in general I think a 2200 is a good score and it puts you in contention for any of the Ivies. This is of course granted you have good grades, a tough schedule, and good extra curricular involvement. good tests wont make up for lacking in the other departments.</p>
