Is a 31 ACT/2030 SAT good for NU?

I bet you can get that and more. :)

Awww thanks :)

Well, I got accepted with a nice financial aid package, but I’m still considering my options.

Good luck with your college application process, liv4physicz! You’ll definitely get into great schools!

^ I hope so! Thanks for the input gonzalez! :)

oh, my gpa was about a 4.7 on a 5.0 scale!

and no im not a URM lol

What would that be on a 4.0 scale, do you have any idea?

ahh im not sure. sorry!

Do you know if they’re wary of admitting 3.7 UWs (on a 4.0 scale)?

i would say that that’s a pretty decent GPA! you seem to have a lot going for you, and i think you definitely have a good chance of getting in! make sure to not slack off during your senior year though and keep up with your extracurriculars [:

I got in with a 34 ACT score and around a 3.7-3.75 UW GPA, so I think that if you have a good amount of ECs you have a pretty good shot of getting into NU.

^ Thanks, and congrats! You’re not a URM, are you?

Liv, this is from 3 years ago when, I’m assuming, this world was less competitive. DD had 31 ACT and 2100-2150 single sitting, top 10-20%ile class rank, decent ECs but nothing exceptional. Was waitlisted to Weinberg, wrote strong letters to keep her on the waitlist, followed up several times with updates, and finally was admitted. ORM and full pay, if that matters.

Thanks Dadof3! I’m actually a girl applying for engineering (it’s the reading sections - not math - that are bringing down my standardized test scores), so maybe that’s kind of a hook? What was your daughter’s GPA?

Nope, I’m not a URM. I’m just the average Asian-American male who wants to study engineering.

Are you going to NU?!

I’m not sure actually. My choices are down to Ohio State and NU, so I have to decide if paying twice the amount per year is worth it.

Do you not qualify for FA?

Honestly I’ll probably run into the same problem (Michigan vs. NU [if I’m accepted there]). I know U of M is a great school but I love NU!!!

I did qualify for financial aid, but even with FA, I’ll still have to pay around 30k a year.

Oh. :frowning: that sucks.
