Is an advertising major a good option to business degree for those weaker in math?

UGA is pre business. You need to get in after there. Two years later I think

At the same time, you could go to a safety direct admit but the math is the math. It’s not gonna be easier.

Tons of kids change majors. Go with the desire.

If she needs to pivot, she’ll have a path to something else.

In a way you are over complicating this. Sorry to say but being honest.

How to Apply - Terry College of Business - University of Georgia (uga.edu)

What’s wrong with majoring in something that she’s clearly good at vs. forcing her into something where she’ll be gritting her teeth?

Typically undergrad b-schools require two math classes (including business calculus) and two semesters of statistics. In addition, in general the marketing field has become much more driven by data analytics in recent years.

I suggest the student review the curriculum at schools being considered.

One of my kids is very similar - doesn’t enjoy math and feels she’s not good at it. She struggled in high school somewhat with the pace of pre-calc and calc but got through them with Bs. Applied to schools mostly as a communications major. Found out she really doesn’t love her communications classes at all. Her favorite classes freshman year ended up being business calc and a data science class, where she earned As in both. Who knew?!
