Is anyone who get admitted not going to attend?

@DREWALL: Your complaint: "i hate when people apply somewhere where they have no intention of going!!! That spot could have been mine " is a little inmature & selfish, I think!

The choice of colleges is a significant decision in a young person’s life, and you don’t want to miss out on opportunities “just because”.
My son applied to quite many colleges, yes, that’s correct - and in the end, he’s going to attend only one school. However, at the time at which he had to decide on his applications, he didn’t know yet in detail what he wanted to major in (Science or Engineering?), so we kept all the options open.

Also, in particular in today’s situation of ridiculously high cost of education, you have to ‘play the game’ of scholarships … with my son’s grades it was possible/likely that he would get some scholarships offered - but definitely not from all the colleges! And since I am not Bill Gates’ little brother, we can’t afford to pay $55+ k per year … . That’s why I find it perfectly ok to apply to multiple schools, fully aware that only one can be attended - and the schools know this too, by the way - that’s why Caltech for example accepts about 600 students for only ~260 places …

Again, your comment is IMO quite childish, but then again, I understand that you’re disappointed - you should just try not to show it in public …

Good luck to you - I’m sure there are many very good schools out there and you’ll find the one that fits best to you.
