I already added it to my resume under community service before I asked this, my wording choice was kinda weird. My question was whether I should contact them to emphasize the activity since its really important to me.
On another note, I made states and sectionals for swimming MA, should I mention it? Its not like swimming is a big thing for me since music is more important BUT I still do value swimming.
A qualification for my advice: I have not applied to boarding schools before, so this advice is based on things I have read here at CC.
At this point, AOs will have tons of emails to get through. If itās already in your application, they will see it. Sending an email might irritate your AO.
If you have something for swimming, you might want to look into contacting a coach. I know nothing about athletics, so it would be best to get someone elseās advice here.
No unless you have something really important to say. From what youāve noted, you do not appear to have anything so important that it is worth running the risk of ticking them off. As for swimming, contact coaches you are already giving updates or if your recent swim times put you in the realm of making points at New Englands. You can go to the NEPSSA site to look up the times. I believe in the past youāve noted that you were a breaststroker. The slowest time last year that made it into the B finals and points was a 1:01.41 to give you a sense.
Unless in conversation with a coach already, I would refrain from updating at this point. If you get waitlisted, it may be worth bringing up, but otherwise just take deep breaths and be patient.
Follow-up! It couldnāt hurt and if you were going to a school that regularly sends a lot of kids to boarding schools, the secondary school counselor would be doing this for you.
I just recently received news on some awards and other things from competitions (math/music) which are decently big, is it worth updating the music directors/admissions teams even though M10 is 19 days away? (Some of the music directors told me to update them about competitions etc).
