College admissions isn’t about meeting the criteria. Thousands and thousands of applicants can do that. They want you to go far, far beyond this so-called academic criteria. 2300+ and 98+ doesn’t guarantee you admission into any of the top schools. So many people have that and much more on top of it.

xombie–if one can take 3 sat IIs on same day, couldn’t they also take SAT I with those SAT IIs??? I really want to take SAT I at October but I also have to take my SATIIs which are equally important since the universities i will be applying to ask for 2 sat subjects. Could i do this and will you share with me the schedule and how everything is arranged if we can take sat I and II on same day?? Thanks

Unfortunately you can only take 1-3 SAT II subject tests OR the SAT I on a testing day. They are mutually exclusive. From my experience, you are corralled into different testing areas – and there is no moving in-between.

You have the opportunity to take either the SAT I or SAT II this June (You can still register, as long as you do so by May 19th!), October or even November. Personally, I’d recommend that you take 2 or 3 SAT IIs in June, as the material will be fresh in your mind. However, if you have not yet taken the SAT I, take that in June and retake it in October if necessary. You can always take SAT IIs in November, although it’s cutting it close.

thanks xombie that helped a lot. I’m just a bit confounded; i really should have started the prep much earlier in my junior year, but then i wasn’t too familiar with my course work.
