I visited MMC 3 days ago with my mother and we both liked it. I’m planning on majoring in psychology or English (looking towards medical school or law school) and I am aware that many of the students there are acting, art, or dance majors. The location isn’t a big deal to me because I was born and raised in NYC which means it won’t be necessary for me to dorm there. I’ve been reading reviews about MMC and many of them are negative. There are complaints about the students, lack of motivation, lack of care towards those who are not majoring in the arts, high tuition, low academic standard and a high transfer out rate for those reasons. After touring the school I really liked what I saw and heard about MMC. I like liberal arts colleges over universities because of the small class sizes, more opportunities to socialize and closer relationships with the professors. The place was clean, renovated and the staff was polite. However, I was looking more into the college review sites and saw many more negative reviews than there were positive. The high tuition without living in a dorm made me even more skeptical about officially committing to attend there. I’m still waiting on acceptance letters to keep my options open. I am considering Pace University, LIU Brooklyn, and John Jay as other schools that are in Manhattan. Please give your honest opinion and provide accurate information.
