Yes, they are a solid school. But keep in mind that if you plan to go on for a PhD, you are probably only going to want to do that if the PhD is funded – the school pays YOU to TA and research during the years you work on your coursework, research, and thesis. They don’t pay a lot, but at a decent school it is a wage you can live on. That said, very good grades and getting some research experience at MSU would position you for grad school admissions.
