Well, if I do not take the offer from the U of M this would be pretty expensive as I am paying by the semester. Would you consider this worth it to stay in college for 3/4 years?
Isnt the UofM offer for 4 years? If so take it
Not sure, I will have to ask the committee.
You have mentioned some special scholarship. You need to check the provisions of your scholarship.
I’m not a Wall Street expert (but do have family members who work(Ed) there.
It is my opinion that you would be better off not graduating in 3 or 4 semesters (if that is even possible). Pick up a second major, get going on some relevant internships or jobs, position yourself so you will have terrific letters of reference. Take your time.
This isn’t a race.
I think that’s a good idea as well. Thanks for the insight!
I wish you luck.
You are very fortunate to have a great affordable academic option. Unfortunately it isn’t a target school for most investment banks.
You will need to be very assertive, cast a wide net (likely beyond investment banks), and be a little bit lucky.
Specifically I would look at “buy side” firms like mutual fund companies and insurance companies for credit training and or research opportunities. You also might want to apply to credit ratings companies like Moody’s and S&P.
Thank you so much for your help!
