<p>Gingeralelover - The consensus here is overwhelmingly to take a semester abroad, as it will give you a great experience (academically as well as socially) as well as make you more open-minded. I don’t think that you will lose anything regarding your relationships with your teachers if you are gone for only one semester. I really think that you should go, but make sure that you find a good program that matches your interest.
