The University of Southern California conducts admission interviews as an optional part of the undergraduate application process. You may interview on-campus or off-campus in nearly 20 cities across the country. USC’s admission interviews are very popular and fill up quickly; space is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interviews are one of the many types of opportunities we provide for students to have contact with the university and the admission office. However, the size of our applicant pool precludes us from interviewing every applicant, therefore this element of the application is strictly optional. We interview less than 20% of the admission applicant pool. Past history has shown that there is no appreciable difference in the admission rates of students who are not interviewed.
If you are already planning to visit USC to find out more about the school and if it would be a good fit for you, it would be a good idea to also schedule an interview. If the interview is the only reason for the visit, it does not make sense to make a trip across the United States for a non-evaluative interview.

As mentioned in this thread <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/992196-2011-admission-interview-sign-ups-available.html?highlight=interview+sign+ups[/url] ”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/992196-2011-admission-interview-sign-ups-available.html?highlight=interview+sign+ups ; , off-campus interviews are usually full by late September. Anyone still hoping to schedule one should check immediately to see if there are any spots left.

Good luck!
