Kelly is quite a spitfire
I thought the coaches were pretty funny tonight. Kelly adds a lot of personality. I added several to my team. I can’t wait to hear more from the last guy (haven’t learned names yet). I loved the sexiness of his voice.
It is going to be a great season!
I’m watching this season because Kelly Clarkson is one of the coaches. She was great tonight and had chemistry with the others. Loved the show.
I guess it’s just me, but I haven’t been crazy about any of the contestants OR the coaches.
I really like Justin Kilgore, who closed the show, but I think 14-year-old Brynn Cartelli was my favorite. She reminded me so much of Addison Agen who was last season’s runner up.
I thought Alicia completely wasted her block (blocking Blake). To me, you would use the block when you have the “next best chance” to have an artist pick you in the blinds and, clearly, she had almost no chance to be selected by country artist Justin Kilgore. For those who may not know about this new twist: if you like an artist in the blind audition, you can turn your chair AND simultaneously block one of your rival coaches IF they also turn their chair for that same artist. (If the rival coach does not turn for that same artist, the coach who did the block keeps their one block for another blind audition.) Each coach only gets one block in the blinds.
Speaking of another new twist coming in the knockout round: a coach can request to save their teammate that they don’t select as the winner of the head to head knockout. However, if another coach hits their steal button, that losing artist has the option of remaining on their current team or going to a coach who hit their steal button.
What another season already? Time is going fast! Who won last season, anyways? Life happened and I stopped watching. Thanks for reminding me!
I like that a coach can save their teammate if they like, it’s a great option. So many rimes when they seem tormented about the choices, I wonder if it’s real or theater. I guess we’ll know now, if they don’t keep them.

Kelly was much more fun and likeable in the way she ribbed Blake. Jennifer Hudson was a primadonna. Didn’t come across well.
My 2 favorites as well, but in the reverse order.
Yeah, I’m not sure she was clear on the concept. Blake obviously used his correctly when he blocked Adam, although I’m not sure that I would used it on that contestant.
Agree that Alicia seemed to use her block just for spite. She had no realistic chance of being chosen by that artist.
I was puzzled by the last guy’s backstory. He said music wasn’t really a thing for him until college. But then he said he’s been waiting for this opportunity his whole life. What opportunity? The chance to sing or the chance to come out of the closet on national television?
I was out last night so didn’t see the show but my H who is a big Voice fan said that he found Kelly really annoying because she kept interrupting others and just wouldn’t shut up! 
She is definitely a very chatty person so I’m hoping that maybe as the weeks go by, she’ll settle in a little. I love Jennifer Hudson as a singer and actor but really disliked her as a coach last season. I’m happy that she didn’t return.
Just now saw the show on Hulu.
musicmom, I believe Justin was referring to the opportunity of coming out on the Voice. Laughed at the fact he was a cheerleader for 2 reasons: 1) I was also a cheerleader at my HS. The last male cheerleader the school had— almost 50 years ago! And 2) Cheerleading and singing do not go well together due to constant hoarseness. No wonder he did not sing in HS.
After watching the button pressing for Justin more closely, I am leaning in the direction that it was scripted. I would not be surprised to see Blake steal him in the Battle or Knockout Round.
I enjoyed Kelly overall. I think newbie nerves may have caused her to be overly chatty at times but I LOVED her comments to Adam after Drew Cole performed! Still laughing…
I was not blown away by anybody tonight. Could be I’m just in a bad mood.
The Voice Season 14… The 2-Chair Season. At least for the first week. Even a block counts as a chair turn. Musicmom was right. I may not watch the show on Hulu tomorrow.
One of you has a friend’s daughter (?) on the show this season. Please let us know, again, who it is and when they will be on. I went back in time rather quickly but did not find it.
Our friend had scheduled an audition but was unable to travel due to other commitments. We are disappointed.
