I am here, just reading and agreeing with everyone about Adam and Kelly. The bathrobe was ridiculous!
I slipped out of the top 1,000 yesterday, but am just barely back in the 900s today with 2,282,000.

Agreed, the inevitable is just being delayed a week. None of them was going to the end. But still a classless act.
If Adam stays as a coach, I cannot imagine any male contestant choosing him unless he’s the only chair to turn.
^Or female rockers, jonri. During Blind #5, after fighting for and getting Natalie Brady (she sang Barracuda), Adam told her backstage “I won’t let you down”! Then, in typical Adam fashion, in the Battle Round, he cut her loose opting instead for Jake Wells.
This was just handled all wrong. Adam should have talked about DeAndre after his performance. Carson should have given the normal spiel–"to vote for DeAndre, tweet…–and then Carson should have said Reagan was not able to sing tonight. As her coach, Adam, is there anything you’d like to say. Then Adam could have talked about HER. It just was totally inappropriate for DeAndre to be standing there listening to Adam say to vote for someone else.
And then to ask Deandre what he wanted to say to his coach. I realize they ask everyone up for elimination to do that, but after what Adam did to him, who could expect Deandre to gush about what a great mentor Adam was.
I’m curious what happened during the commercial break. For them to go right to Kelly, she must have had words with him during that time. Adam has always seemed like an a$$ to me, but that was really awful. Kudos to DeAndre for being so composed.
I wonder if they’ll say something next week about it. The crowd has turned on Adam, that was a really awful thing to do, especially after he said it really doesn’t matter if you win or not.
When Kelly was on AI she was sick as a dog with laryngitis, she went out there and sang anyway. That whole robe thing was so appalling. And here’s my other thing - if you are old enough to be on the show to compete against other adult contestants, you shouldn’t get any special treatment or consideration because of your age. Perhaps the minimum age needs to be raised.
Adam has done something like this in prior seasons. Can’t remember when, and possibly not as egregious, but definitely throwing one of his team under the bus.
I haven’t watched the episode yet, and I think I’ll spare my blood pressure and give it a miss.
If they upped the minimum age we’d have missed Kennedy. That would have been a shame. It’s likely these contestants are screened pretty carefully to assess their ability to handle the pressure. Unless Reagan was puking her guts out or had completely lost her voice, she should have been on stage.
According to news reports, as soon as a contestant is eliminated, he or she goes in to be “debriefed” by a psychiatrist to make sure they are taking it okay. (This wasn’t true during the early seasons of the show, but was apparently added after some contestants didn’t do too well after losing.)
NBC did also manage to do her hair and makeup. Even my girly girl wife won’t do hair and makeup when she is even the slightest bit sick. She was also able to travel to the studio and then do a wardrobe change from her street clothes into a bathrobe, moving from the dressing room into the audience. Why didn’t NBC just have her stand in her street clothing, the same clothing she wore to get to the show, next to the others in the bottom 3? I blame NBC more than I blame Adam.
The votes are not manipulated but the voting RESULTS sure are! Only 1% separated Reagan and DeAndre. She wasn’t in street clothing because NBC wanted to sell you on her being too sick to sing and manipulate the results.
The whole thing was absurd. Adam says I have 2 little girls at home, you’re a “little girl” too. Clear gender bias and a little creepy referring to a 14 year old as a little girl. Just strange all the way around. The two guys have every right to be angry about this. I wasn’t a big fan of either, but what a lousy way to go out. Hope the psychiatrist debriefed Adam while they were at it!
Here is the clip of Adam, the previous week, pleading to put DeAndre into the Top-10 when he landed in the bottom. Adam was pledging to take him to the Final if DeAndre got saved. Sorry for the poor sound quality. Go to the 2nd to last clip:
Tonight the Top-8 will also sing duets. Here are the pairings:
Reagan Strange and Kennedy Holmes
Chevel Shepherd and Kirk Jay
Chris Kroeze and Sarah Grace
MaKenzie Thomas and Kymberli Joye
They all make sense to me but I just hope Kennedy does not get hurt being paired up with our “bathrobe girl”.
Do you think there will be anything said about last week?
Hi all, I’m not a voice watcher but have a question! My DD is going to a taping tonight. Is the show live? As in, should I watch tonight and might get a glimpse of her (as an audience member, but she is getting in from a producer she’s working with so may very well have great seats). Thanks!
TS0104: They tape the show in Los Angeles at 5 PM Pacific. Fans on the west coast watch the show at 8 PM. They only usually show glimpses of the audience who are near the stage, sometimes touching hands with a singer when they perform. Generally speaking, you will not see the audience.
I will be surprised if nothing is said.
@TS0104 - be sure to have her boo at Adam.
On Facebook every time the Voice shares a video from last week, most of the comments are about how awful Adam was, how weird the bathrobe was, and how if you can’t sing you should be out. Seems pretty universal except for the diehard Reagan fans who feel bad for her.
