Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” still brings tears to my eyes.

Wait, just one more: an acoustic version of [Real Good Looking Boy](<a href=“The Who - Real Good Looking Boy (Acoustic 2005) - YouTube”>The Who - Real Good Looking Boy (Acoustic 2005) - YouTube), Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend (I never get tired of listening to this one.)

I couple that I find really moving:
You Raise Me Up–Celtic Woman
Here’s to Life–Shirley Horn
I Hope You Dance–Lee Ann Womack

Oops, that should be Mika – not Mica.

3bm103…Ditto on the Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.” I always tear up when I hear this and think about when my husband was in Desert Storm. I also get emotional when I hear/see Whitney Houston’s version of “The Star Bangled Banner” (the one she sung at the Super Bowl in 1991). Other songs that make me tear up – “Butterfly Kisses,” “I Can Only Imagine,” and believe it or not “Cats in the Cradle.”

That link did not work on my computer (I think it would work on a mobile device), but this one does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKdvnwrTloo

That is a very, very beautiful instrumental.

Thanks for the help… I tried like seven times before my iPad got the link… I’m a beginner at these little devices but they are soooooo fun!

You’re welcome! I might have to get an iPad some day; it does sound like fun!

Okay, now this is definitely veering off course, but your post, dragonmom, of the instrumental from the soundtrack to The Civil War reminds me of one of the most hauntingly beautiful things I have ever read: [Sullivan Ballou’s letter to his wife, Sarah](http://www.pbs.org/civilwar/war/ballou_letter.html).

Because in those days literate folks were able to write well. Of course the bulk of the cannon fodder wasn’t. But how sweet it is to read well written every day dialogue compared to the stupid txt Stuff we send r kids.

^^Oh my, that is truly beautiful.

I can play Springsteen’s ‘The River’ over and over again. I think it is romantic, passionate, melancholic…gotta go play it… ;)

This is making me nostalgic.Love Leonard Cohen especially “Everybody Knows”, not exactly “pretty.” Lots of stuff by Joni Mitchell, Dylan ,Springsteen can be very emotional. The Who’s Behind Blue Eyes. Beatles Eleanor Rigby,Long and Winding Road.
Richard Harris MacArthur (sp?) Park. Wichita Lineman gets to me. Todd Rundgren A Dream Goes on Forever,Be Nice to Me,Can We Still be Friends.

“All the road running” is a beautiful and sentimental duet by Emmylou Harris and Mark Knopfler.

I love KD Lang’s music and whoever or whatever she is; is a non-starter for me.

KD’s music matters!!

But apparently, she is not comfortable in her own skin. So sad.

I’m going through a Beatles /Paul McCartney phase, and love the song Jenny Wren. It’s worth googling (am on iPad and can’t link to YouTube).

Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. Pizzagirl, so glad to see Paul happy again!

I think KD Lang has one of the best voices I have ever heard. I saw her years ago in concert and she was flawless. I never tire of listening to her album, “Ingenue.”

I like this song from Whitney Houston, from the good old days:

And I like this little-known song from Abba:

The other one reminded me too much of the horrendously boring Winter Olympics opening night, which a total yawner. Even it was the best part (by default) of a horrible show. One can hope that we can link Beijing with London with another magical presentation, and forget Vancouver altogether.
