<p>In any case, yes, roads are paid for with taxes. That’s a case where the associated deadweight loss of taxation is being compensated for with a social good (roads.) However, in the case of attorneys “making work,” all we get is increased litigiousness and a higher social cost.</p>
<p>It’s kind of like having a factory deliberately polluting extra just to make a point.</p>
<p>Lawyers making work=Lawyers earning more money=Lawyers consuming more=Lawyers paying more taxes=we pay more money into society.</p>
