You can’t join JROTC unless you were a member of a school that offered it. However, there are programs pretty much just like JROTC that are offered, you can look them up and see if there are any squadrons near you. There is the Civil Air Patrol, if you find any cadet or composite squadrons (which are adults and kids) you can join. Civil Air Patrol closely follows the Air Force and might benefit you if you’re looking at USAFA. There are also the Naval Sea Cadets, although it may be a little too late to join them, since they require that you do a special summer thing before you can move up in rank. If you’re still interested though, look up a local unit and ask!

There is also something called the infantry explorers, there are not many of these but I’m pretty sure that they do stuff with field training and army stuff. This is more army, as where CAP is more air force and sea cadets are more navy. I’m also pretty sure there’s a coast guard auxiliary for kids too.

Anyway, what school are you looking at?
