Is UMKC Program... Good?

I’ll give you my two cents, because I interviewed there and was waitlisted (top 5 on the waitlist, although I never tried to find out if I got in after that because I committed to VCU’s GMED program).

From going to the interview, there were two things that annoyed me. First, if you are an out of state student, you will not get any scholarships whatsoever (they told me that at the interview). So, you’re looking at about 50-60k for each of the first 2 years and 60-70k for each of the second 2 years. (we weren’t told about the last 2 years for some reason). Second, there was no WOW factor in the school, you know what I mean? It was just another medical school (my opinion, of course).

And if you factor in the low rank of the undergraduate school and the lack of a rank for the medical school, I would say that this program is not exactly the best for you, especially if you are out of state (if you are in state or within the region, that’s a different story).

Just my two cents. Hope this helped!
