Don’t listen to the above person, excuse them. I love it here!!! I am finishing my freshman year here and I am passing all of the “weed-out” courses with flying colors. I work extremely hard to do this, but I’m extremely dedicated BECAUSE of my love for it. And yes I AM doing pre-med. My GPA was a 4.6, ACT was a 32. Yes, UF is difficult, but they provide an insane amount of resources to excel.
And while it may not necessarily be “fun”, if you have a passion for it, you can do it. I’m finishing my freshman year with a 4.0 because I love it and because I work for it. I’m so involved with it (volunteering, research, shadowing, etc.), so I find the people around me who are like-minded and we are each other’s resources. It’s what you make of it! Don’t let the people who tell you “Oh you’re just gonna get weeded out if you’re not a valedictorian” discourage you.
