<p>I can’t speak for every half-white and half-Hispanic attendee. I’m a fourth white and I certainly don’t look like it. That being said I don’t really look like I’m Hispanic either. I will say that I’ve grown up around white people my entire life and those are the people I gravitate to to begin with. Rice’s goal is to enrich our academic experiences with the cultural and intellectual insights of other people. Vision should be a good opportunity to do just that. I know I would personally prefer to be considered only a Rice Student and not a URM, but Rice is going through a lot of trouble to get students to Vision. I think the experience will be worth it despite any apprehension you may feel.</p>
