Is Wesleyan Jinxed?

Listen, this website is not the forum for such bs.

Take it elsewhere.

If swat grad is being a ■■■■■/obnoxious/anything, ignore the posts and this thread. Seriously. Swatty is an incredible school. I would have applied there had it not been half the size of my high school. The school is beautiful and the academics are incredible, as are the students. The same applies for wes.

To each their own. Take this shenanigans elsewhere.

Swatgrad, I’m not sure what your comprehension says about your education, but it seems to me that JW was giving swatty a compliment for having more applicants. I’m pretty sure we all know that more applicants don’t mean a better incoming class.

UChicago and swatty don’t get ‘fluff’ applicants most of the time because they’re known to be difficult undergrad institutions, so having less applications there says as much as it does about the students that apply as well as those that didn’t.

I guarantee that there are more ‘fluff’ applicants at wes than at UChicago and Swatty, then again that’s what the admissions office is for. To first get rid of the fluff, and then select the best incoming class from those left.

If wesleyan’s applications drop, I won’t lose any sleep over it as long as the stats, interests, and long term successes of the body keep getting better. Wes has garnered a lot of attention from popular media due to the music scene here and of the alums, and that has as much to do with the applicant rise as does having obama as a graduation speaker before his presidency.
