Is Yale really a top research university ?

nah I’ll change it if the need arises

It’s over. Have fun at Wisconsin. It’s a shame I won’t be seeing your face when Yale beats Penn in football again.

banker, are you pretending to have been accepted to Penn?

LOL! And you just changed your location to “hopefully penn” when you got caught!

mr_sanguine,

It’s called playing pretend. He pretended to be a Wharton student just like he’s going to pretend to be an i-banker when he ends up on the street.

fine you guys got me, i’m a state school pre-frosh. however, you guys should read that article on how state-schoolers and ivy league graduates are equally the same when the tuition that private school students have to pay is accounted for.

Come on now, stop. You’re a ridiculous ape. It’s one thing to go to a public school because you want to. It’s another to want to attend an elite private school, get deferred, pretend to be an acceptee, then fall back on the “public schools are just as good” argument when discovered. Lying about taking linear algebra in highschool was pitiful too.

Unfortunately for your ego, that part wasn’t a joke. But you need to read up on some of the articles though, the incomes coming out of both types of schools are similar on AVERAGE when you account for the ridiculous tuitions you guys have to pay.

No one said it was a joke. It was a LIE just like when you LIED about being accepted to Wharton. No one gives a crap how much the average grad makes. Ridiculous lying apes end up on the street.

Ya, keep telling yourself that. The fact that you’re asian and you’re doing multivariable calculus when you’re in college shuns disgrace upon your entire community because most other asians have already finished that level of math in high school.

I’m out, I’ll let you comeback with whatever you want to say, the last word is all yours buddy. I sure as hell don’t respond

Sorry Mr. Banker, I mean…you got owned. You don’t lie about your schools :)

That said…eh. Math’s increasingly becoming important. This is why I’m a philosophy major. We disdain math.

Banker–Regarding post #44, please find a different insult to hurl than the one you chose. I hope you’ll discover in college that the way you used the word “queer” is not acceptable.

As I’m confident that you’ll be reading this anyways, I’m just going to say that I hope you don’t return to the yale board.

I thought this thread might help me make up my mind in my current debate between Cambridge Econ v the US (hopefully Yale… :S) but instead I got a slanging match! Oh well, was quite entertaining…

Guys this was a thread about whether or not Yale was a top research university.
Let’s keep it that way.
And HauKim, you are pathetic. You are a YALE freshman, and you are arguing with and attempting to belittle a HIGH SCHOOL junior on a forum intended for high school students. Aren’t you supposed to be one of the best and the brightest students of this country? Don’t you have anything better to do at Yale? What do you get out of doing this? It leads me to think there is either not a lot to do at Yale, or your classes at your “top research university” are just not stimulating at all. Remember that you are representing your school on this forum and act accordingly.

I’m on spring break, my friends are not, and this brings me satisfaction. And please, read the thread.

And this was a ■■■■■ thread without substance.

You guys are kidding right? UPenn Wharton is undebateabley the #1 business school in the US.

Yea actually we were. US News is in on the joke as well:

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/mba/brief/mbarank_brief.php

But hey, forget that we were talking about ECONOMICS not business. Same thing right?

Haukim, chill the **** out. If you care to notice Mr. Yale, the discuss about UPenn was about 3 pages back. It has nothing to do with Yale or your discussion about economics. So I don’t give a **** what point you’re trying to make.

Ok, I get where yall are coming from, but give haukim a break. Yeah, he’s a Yale freshman on a predominantly high school board, but that is one reason why CC is the best college discussion site on the net. It has current college students on it to comment on THEIR perceptions of college and try to answer our questions. I for one think that its a bonus to have people with actual experience adding their thoughts to a board of (don’t take offense) but unexperienced high schoolers. If you would rather that sophomores and juniors only swap rumors and preconceived notions, by all means run off the college posters. So back to the discussion.
