The OC is amazing. Ahem. Best show ever.

And Twilight is good, although I lead towards Jake instead of Edward.

And the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants has made me cry more times than I can count. I love them!

On a tangential note, does anyone care about Gossip Girl, the TV series? I heard that its ratings were really low, and not at all comparable to The OC.
I watch that show. I heard that they didn’t really have a lot of people watching it on tv, so they quit showing it online so that they could boost their ratings. I never saw the OC, but from what I’ve heard, more people enjoyed it. Gossip Girl is just different. Up until the last few episodes, there wasn’t really much that made me want to watch it again the next week. They didn’t really know how to use cliffhangers to keep ahold of the audience.

I read soley to be entertained (unless, of course, I have to read something for class). I will never pretend that Twilight is a work of great literature, but I’ll be darned if it isn’t fun to read. I read almost entirely fantasy novels, from childrens to adults to everything in-between, and Twilight falls under that fantasy blanket. Nothing wrong with enjoying a book, even if it’s not the next War and Peace or whatever.

Plus, at least it gets people reading. My sister hated reading until she picked up books like Harry Potter and Twilight. Now she loves it. I’d rather see her read that stuff than read nothing at all.

One of my points is that reading, in and of itself, is not automatically a positive thing. It’s in our culture to believe that Reading=Good and TV=Bad, but I would much rather have a conversation with the TV addict who watches Frontline, The Office and CNN, than with a reader whose library consists mainly of Twilight and It Girl.
