The National Guard is now taking over the grid search.

it’s a terrible tragedy. Too sad.

And its been raining off and on all day. :(

“The dramatic rise in the value of PNW real estate perhaps has allowed homes to be built where they should not be built.”

The high real estate prices (we are talking about 1990 or so!!) forced some people to look for land in those places. There is no way my friends would have been able to afford acreage close to the metropolitan area (and they needed land for their business).

I have stayed away from the TV news on this one. It is too much to see in pictures alone. It is truly heartbreaking to see what the rescuers are immersed in.

One would wish that the guard was called out earlier. One would wish that the Armed forces could get involved if they are not? Searching one grid should be enough heartbreak for helpers to endure.

I can’t imagine. I think I would just shut down.

Prayers for all involved.

News report of one fellow whom has been banned from the cite after he was caught impersonating a rescuer, with his “rescue dog” on a leash. Where do such odd people come from?

Numbers of missing has dropped to 30.

Glad that many of the previously thought of as missing have been located. Still, it is a huge number…

Thanks for posting that some mom, I always forget Tim writes a column.
You should read his book about the dust bowl.
