hey whats so funny

"hey guys…im going to Cornell next year…why are we always at the bottom ="

I just find that amusing…

Please allow me to reiterate my informational question: what would be a good indicator of the excellence of a math department?

How about the peer assessment of the mathematics department as reflected in the USNews rankings for 2006?

byerly… i see u post a lot on cc… how would u rate the ivies objectively and subjectively? (not on sports… if u go back to the beginning of the thread ull see what i mean)

Sorry… I don’t do ratings. I leave that exercise to the “experts”!

^^^ The rankings posted by Byerly from U.S. News look plausible to me. That would put Harvard and Princeton in a tie in the Ivy League, which sounds about right. I suppose there is some variation in these ratings from time to time.

update: “lightning strikes” in ivy league baseball championship - princeton sweeps harvard, by lopsided margins of 9-3 and 8-2.
