^happy for you! But so jealous. Based on past years they send acceptances first, then rejections a few weeks later (probably after other people accept or decline the offer). So those of us who haven’t heard yet are unlikely to get in. So depressed right now

darknightx do you mind sharing your stats? Also what day did you and your friend receive your letters? Soooo jelly right now.

Haven’t heard anything yet either, but I’m not giving up yet.

Congrats darknightx!

^That makes me feel a little better. Also, darknightx I sort of cc stalked you and saw that you already do research at the jackson lab? So maybe the people who do work at Jackson lab got their acceptances first or something. Just grasping at threads of hope here :)

Looking at threads from a few years ago, it seems they send out acceptances/waitlists across a one week-ish period (Mar 17/18-25), so it’s not like getting an email in the next few days is totally out of the question (though past acceptance rates would suggest that it is highly improbable).

Good luck to those who haven’t gotten anything yet, I suppose.

^have you been accepted?

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, were you accepted to Rockefeller?

Haven’t gotten anything yet from JAX. >.< Be nice to get an email, even if it was a no, just to put an end to the waiting.

Got a no from Rockefeller. ):

I also got a no from Rockefeller
apparently they took 30 out of 400. But still. I’m just worried that jax is harder to get into, so the Rockefeller rejection could be indicative of a no here too. Maybe I’m just overthinking and stressing but I want to go so bad.

I agree with the whole yes/no thing. I think they should send them all at the same time. This is agonizing. I keep checking my email every two minutes. I just want to get my rejection so I can mourn and move on lol.

Care to post stats?

Even though I didn’t apply, good luck to you guys!

No. By Rockefeller I mean Rockefeller. I applied to city of hope too. And SIMR, J. Craig Venter, NIH and Florida SSTP (but not till last week lol so I don’t think they’ve even received it yet). I’ve only heard from Rockefeller, and I was rejected (obvi). I might do HSPSP and UCLA HSSRP. I probably will if (when) I don’t get accepted anywhere before April. My stats are on the first page of this thread.

Lol at editing your post bioboy

Heh, was looking forward to answering that. :P

Whoops, been a while since I’ve looked on the first page. Nothing yet. ): Gotten 2 no’s so far, so this summer’s starting to look bad. D:

Yeah I’m honesty not expecting to be accepted to any of these programs. Except maybe SSTP. That’s why I submitted an app last week. I was starting to feel like I have no chance anywhere and SSTP is easier to get into so… Yeah. I don’t know if I’ll go even if I do get in though because it’s $3500 plus cross country air fare. Ugh. I’m hoping so much for Jackson right now. If I don’t get an email this week, I suppose I’ll just assume it’s a rejection.

I was wondering if anyone has heard back.

How do you know you didn’t get in? I haven’t heard anything yet.

Aside from darknightx and his/her friend, no one here’s heard anything yet (AFAIK). I don’t think they’ve sent out rejections or waitlists yet, but it’s also possible that they’re not done with acceptances yet.

crosses fingers for the latter

The only person we know of that’s accepted is already an intern at the Jackson lab. It is possible that current interns got accepted first, but given the admit rate, it is very possible that acceptances are done.

@Sheam13 If you look at past threads, acceptances were sent out over a weeklong period at just about this time, and rejections were sent a few weeks later.

My inner pessimist is getting to me, as you guys can probably see.

I’ve been looking at past threads as well. It looks like the way they contact people varies a lot from year to year. The 23rd seems to be the magic day that everyone hears by, accepted or rejected. Someone should email the program and ask when decisions will be made.
