January 2010 SAT Results Thread

My scores got delayed. I called collegeboard, and they could only tell me my math score (770).

I already signed up for a retake in March… hopefully I won’t make another stupid mistake like I did on this SAT.

CR: 750
M: 740
W: 790 (78 MC, 10 E)

Total was 2280… I was honestly a little upset with my math score, since I never had any issues with math in practice tests. I was hoping for 2300+, but I’m retaking it anyway in March.

Was the writing curve exceptionally harsh this time?
I got 75 MC 8 essay and got 720. Is that in the norm or irregular?

From my understanding the writing curve was more lienient this time.

The Writing curve was slightly more generous than normal.

I am one of those people who consistently scored perfects prior to the real SAT. I knew the 2400 was coming. 240 PSAT? 2380 - 2400 score range on my practice SATs? And maybe I’m biased because of that. Maybe that’s why I think there’s a difference between an average 2400-scorer and an average 2370-scorer. I got the 2400, which confirmed my belief that the average guy can only get a 2400 if he’s prepared enough.

CR: 680
M: 740
W: 670 (69 MC, 8 E)

Total: 2090

Ugh, I scored higher on my first test (2100).

When should I take the test again?

Does anyone have any advice on not making unnecessary mistakes on the test? It’s so easy to miss a math or grammar question, because of careless errors, and have your score drop a lot, especially when the curve is so small. I can’t seem to find a way to avoid that.

I’m so stupid. First time taking it with no studying…ug.

R- 680
W- 790 (78 MC, 10 Essay)
M- 710

Retaking in March to try to bring up the CR and Math.

Does anyone know what a 710 in Math curved would be raw? Minus… 3?

^ yep.

ops never posted scores.
CR - 680
M - 800
W - 780 (78 MC, 9 Essay)

Also retaking in March for that CR score. Gonna study like crazy for that 2300+ and hopefully that 2350+ superscore = p

I have to say I’m envious. I would have loved to be more sure about my 2400, or not even that- I would have liked to have been that consistent in my scores (But to clarify, I do not think my score was random). I do think anyone can get 2350+ with preparation, and perhaps even that 2400. After all, 2400 does leave a margin of error. You don’t need to get everything right to get that score, except on Math.

what time does the score report come out at?

It does NOT come out promptly at 5 AM EST. It comes out sometime later in the day.

Hahaha, who’d stay up until then for a freaking SCORE REPORT? That must be one intense SAT-taker. :)

^loll i’m staying up late to do hw but anyways, i checked my email 5 minutes ago around 2 am and i saw college board had sent me an email to check my online score report. i log onto collegeboard to check it out… it’s not available

LIARS >:l

Score reports are up:
CR: 0 omits, 2 wrong = 790
M: 0 omits, 1 wrong = 770
W: 0 omits, 2 wrong, 10 E = 770.

Are we allowed to see the questions that we did wrong?

OMG… W: 0 omits, 3 wrong, 10E=720… That’s harsh

If only I had done 2 wrong, I would have been able to get 770…
1 question= 50…

^^yeah, extremely harsh.

Mine is:
0 omits 3 wrong 8E = 680.

Anyway, see you again in May and I will win your heart. One cannot really guarantee that one’s first love will yield juicy fruit.
