<p>1/ The literary device that the author was using was irrefutably “Personification”. The lines indicated specifically said that “The book smiled at him” or something like that.
2/ The relationship between the father and the book is that “The father found a reliable refuge in the book from chaos of life” (I cannot cite it 100% correctly) because the lines indicated said that: “In those books he found the orders that the world lacked” (again, cannot guarantee 100% correct), which was exactly the paraphrased version of the answer.</p>
<p>Do you guys remember the elephant drawing comparative passage in the last section. The author said ’ I wish I can add more substance to its existence ’

<p>i can bet my ass it was reality coz the only thing that makes sense. Then in the same passage there was one abt the suspect, that was the elephant itself yes ?
then there was one abt “uncountable and unnamed” elephant trainers yeah ? n another one where this guy was different because he actually thot that this was art… then another one abt the directors being “skeptic” abt his project… and one more abt the elephant not being fit for the experiment because he was taught to draw instead of picking it up on his own </p>
