i put ironic…
for the sports, i don’t remmeber the exact answer, but i put somethign that allowed self-expression

personal expression… or something like that

I actually put innately competitive or something

are you sure it was ironic? i thought his tone was more decietful…he was basically hating the notion of their heaven in comparison to the wilderness…and that they would build over it

but at the same time it could also have been ironic that this was there heaven…the oppositve of what lewis and the other guy thought

i put ironic and then self expression

Sarcasm is a form of irony was my reasoning.

I put ironic because it seemed ironic for development to seem like “heaven” rather than the undeveloped, scenic wilderness.

I put decietful for his reference towards “heaven”.

what was the answer right before the ironic question?

well when i read it was something like"they would build over over and create their heaven"

ironic…i understand the reasoning

why not decietful…(hateful)…towards the fact that they are building over ita nd they can no longer enjoy it ? I mean the whole tone of the paragraph was against the company. It would be weird for the author to try and make it sarcastic at that point…DUNNO…

ironic seems to win, but im still confused :)

thanks for the help guys

waht did u guys get for the first question of the Lewis passage?

he was basically saying like - we need to take advantage of the situation we have to enjoy the wilderness, because the faggoooot$ are coming and building their own heaven here…excuse my language…trying to show how i read the tone

Was that the omnipotent one?

MED - LOL, that’s exactly how I viewed it also, it’s like if the estate people come first, they’re going to rebuild it and sell it to make money or whatever, so he basically had a sense of hatred towards them.

QUESTION ABOUT THE ESSAY!

What do people seem to have a different question that I had? Did you guys have a quotation from W.E.B Du Bois or something? For some reason my question was different, something about doing a job that is fufulling/beautiful rather than doing a job for money.

actually… i put contemptuous, not ironic, unless we’re talking about a diff question

oh my… i don’t think i did so hot.

solsek, I do not recall having that topic for my essay, mine was about the government.

i put contemptuous for a different one… i put ironic for this one

alright… so back to math… how sure are you guys that the problem with the number of squares (answer: 52?) was a “not question”?

I think comtemptuous and ironic are different questions
