JMU Admissions class of 2024

Can you please forward/pm link to that forum? Thanks!

Some sort of site my DD was encouraged to create an account and interact with.

www.jmyou.jmu.edu

Decisions are out! DD accepted!

Same here!

I got into JMU! I didn’t get any email notifications about a status change (like what other schools do) so I wouldn’t have even noticed if I didn’t come on here what are the odds!

I got accepted!!!

waitlisted to JMU. Screw it I got accepted to Virginia Tech.

Just got accepted into JMU. However, Va Tech was my number one choice, but I got waitlisted there. So I have mixed feelings. I am happy and sad at the same time. Cause what should I do if I get off waitlist at tech

@Lilmelo thats crazy.
VT was very strange this year so take your acceptance as a great thing

Huge excitement in our house tonight - our daughter was admitted to the School of Music!

Son got accepted to JMU. He will probably pass this nice school and choose Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt or Rutgers for the next 4 years. Congratulations to everyone accepted to JMU!

When you logged in originally did it say deferred on application status and then change to accepted? And congrats

Son was accepted as well, but nowhere does it say what college/major he was accepted into? Does it say on any of yours that have been accepted?

@H20resqdogs - It does not show any college/major information on the portal. You will only see the status changed to “Accepted”. Once you click on Accepted status, you will be able to view the acceptance letter.

For EA Admits—my prelim FA award letter disappeared from my applicant center portal. Has this happened to any other EA admits? Assuming it may just be a portal issue b/c of regular admissions postings so i’m trying not to be overly optimistic about a possible adjustment…but…

@PBJonRYE Daughter noticed the same thing last night. Hoping the same thing you are!

@PLO2020 Thanks! His admission letter doesn’t say either, so just found it strange. He has decided to go somewhere in-state anyway, so it’s fine, just curious.

false alarm as the Prelim Aid award has been reinstated on the admission portal with no change…sigh

My D portal still says no status update . So far hearing all yeses . Should we just assume it’s a no ? She’s waiting on BA for MT. Does anyone no if they give yeses first then no’s ?

Below is the clarification I received regarding the Madison Recognition Award situation:

Mr. Gallagher,
Thank you for the email. The Madison Recognition award is a new award that is available to out-of-state students who have some level of financial need. This was not clearly communicated to me when decisions were made on the awards. The fault in awarding incorrectly is mine. I sent an email to all awardees as soon as we realized the error and sent the letter as a follow up.

We do have a Madison Excellence Award reserved for your son, it is ½ of an in-state tuition scholarship. The value of this scholarship based on 2019-20 costs would be $6,103 per academic year for a total of $24,412 for four years. This is equivalent to 50 percent of the cost of tuition and fees, exclusive of orientation, tuition differential and course fees, at the in-state rate. Non-Virginia residents will pay the difference between out-of-state tuition and fee costs and their scholarship.

The award letter for this will be sent out next week. The award has no need it is only merit-based.

I am including my dean, Bradley Newcomer, on this email. He will also be reaching out to you early next week.

Please let us know if you have any further questions. I apologize for the error on this.
