<p>It might be tabloid but it’s as good as what it covers as the major papers are on hard news.</p>

<p>Good question, I read them at the nail salon. In fact, knowing I can catch up during the pedicure is a big reason that I go get my toes done!</p>
<p>Okay so now I have to say if she was near me I would hit her. on etonline, they have a new clip. It is her birthday, where does she get the cake from? ACE OF CAKES in Baltimore! They live 45 minutes from Philly, how many of us drive our children 2 hours to get a birthday cake? Granted the kids also got to decorate cakes, but this show now needs to name their episodes things like INFOMERCIAL FOR XXX.</p>
<p>I also found it interesting the kids all made handmade cards, I am a MOM of 3, when they were that age it would have taken days for me to have the kids make the cards.</p>

<p>As offensive as all of the subsidized outings are, that might be an acceptable way to continue the show once the little kids start school, whether or not Jon and Kate stay married…have fewer episodes and only film them on outings, so they can start having a bit of privacy in their own home.</p>
<p>But even if they cancelled the show today, how long do you think it would be before the paparazzi leaves them alone? I think they will be followed for a long time.</p>

<p>And Jon and Kate can endlessly ponder whether it was worth the money.</p>
<p>In all of my youthful ambitions, I wanted wealth and I wanted power but I have never wanted fame.</p>
<p>TLC announced that this year they signed with the GOSSELINS for 40 episodes. So without repeats it will be next February when they are done filming, since they only started filming the 1st of May. I am pretty sure they don’t care about privacy, who wants to make a bet the marriage is over and Jon agreed to do this for one last take the money and run reason!</p>
<p>I remember the Frustaci’s also. I lived in OC then. I remember the dad talking on local radio station. This weekend I read that they won a settlement with medical group, physician refused to settle and was dropped from suit. Mom was pregnant with twins (she used Pergonal again) when settlement was won.</p>

<p>I read today that they’re paid $75,000 per episode.</p>
<p>So 75K for 40 episodes, means 3 MILLION.</p>
<p>I am sure Kate couldn’t care less about that, but if PA charges them how will she book those speaking engagements or sell any books? I read somewhere it is several thousands for her speaking, and book signings.</p>
<p>I think Just A MOM lived in the same town when she had the tuplets, we should ask her</p>
<p>Okay so Bullet and I thought about putting solar panels on our house, I contacted 3 companies today. THE COST 40K( our home is 5400 sqft compared to their 10000)…why do I bring this up, because they just had it done on their house. (an entire episode during green month) I am guessing that they are comp. about 100K in products and goodies.</p>
<p>BTW needless to say with 1 child in college, 1 a rising sr in hs, and the real estate market we will not be doing that. Quick math told me I had to own the home for at least 15 yrs before we broke even…by then I plan to be in a lovely 2 bdrm condo in downtown DC so the kids won’t boomerang :p</p>

<p>Yet she got bent out of shape that they were putting in the panels. Heck, if it were me, I 'd get my kids out of their beds and let everybody move in for the week if I didn’t have to pay 40K for it.</p>
<p>I think the issue is the Coogan Law [Coogan</a> Law | Screen Actors Guild](<a href=“SAG-AFTRA |”>SAG-AFTRA |) and the fact that kids in reality shows are exempt from those protections. They probably are legally in the OK, but it’s still not what’s best for the kids.</p>
<p>Pima - I have no idea what she charges for speaking. I think she has to travel far from home to get a gig. I have never heard her speak or book sign around here.

<p>Well we got one in the military, the second wants to go back to NC (our last base), that leaves us with only 1! Of course knowing Bullet and I we will not move so the grandkids, whenever they happen, will want to stay with us!</p>
<p>IS it true, that the kids are in a high end private school, or is that just gossip? Is the area filled with paparazzi or is that just an exaggeration?</p>
<p>BTW how is DD? is she home yet and is she excited to be a 3 dig?</p>
<p>Forgive me if this has been covered but don’t you have to pay some kind of taxes based on the value of those kind of freebies?</p>
<p>Taxes on the freebies, yes. Especially if you want to get appointed to a cabinet position someday…</p>
<p>I find it very interesting that all of this is posted under the Jon & Kate Plus 8 FANS topic…</p>
<p>And I do have to say…when any marriage breaks up, it is never just one person’s fault. There’s always enough blame to go around.</p>
