Meat processing plants, prisons and retirement homes are the three hot spots in COVID-19 cases outside of big cities. In Chicagoland retirement homes can be major petri dishes.

Evanston and Hyde Parks have their own shares of cases but they are nowhere as bad as the Hispanic neighborhood of Little Village. IDPH provides for quite a detailed picture.

My feeling is that both NU and U of C will try to open with some in person smaller classes and remote learning in lieu of large lecture. We won’t be anywhere near Phase 5 by September but some intermediate solution can go forward.

But if the virus mutates into a much deadlier form and starts to attack the young, all bets are off.
