Same here in Illinois wrt long term care facilities…44% of deaths are from those sites, not sure about proportion of cases.

Illinois hasn’t peaked yet in death rate, was expected at least two weeks ago, hopefully it’s happening right around now…of course they aren’t sharing the death rate separated out by long term facility and not, which would be instructive.

Total cases are increasing because of increased testing capability.

State unis have not gotten the go ahead to resume operations in any area AFAIK. I think the financial toll on the state’s uni system will be great, as Illinois is getting economically battered and was already in poor financial shape pre-covid-19.
