As a Virginia applicant to JHU myself (last year), I think you may have a shot. One thing I will say is, if your stats aren’t as good as you want them to be, definitely speak on your work experiences in your application. If you have highly unique experiences (what did you do at the Children’s Science Center?), that will boost your chances. I scored 1950 on my SAT and got into both Hopkins and Vanderbilt, then waitlisted to Duke. By the way…I would take the opinions of your fellow college applicants who somehow know the ins and outs of the application review process with a grain of salt. Good luck!
