Johns Hopkins Class of 2029 Official RD Thread

I also got the email, didn’t switch, and got accepted

Family friend I know accepted into JHU for BME. Excited but needs to consider costs. $92K. He has been accepted into bioengineering at UCLA and UCSD. Instate, so $42K. Would like to go to get his PhD (enjoys research) and then also go to medical school (possibly MDPHD). Which schools would be recommended? JHU medical school acceptance rate 80% while UCLA/UCSD around 50%. Family can afford the JHU costs but it’s not as if they have unlimited resources. Thoughts?

If anyone can move this post to another outside post that would be fine, too.

is this a typo?

Anyone got merit aid from JHU ?

JHU students have a med school acceptance rate of 80%.

Friends - can someone please do us a favor? We didn’t apply to JHU but we are eligible for the employee tuition grant benefit. Can you please look at your CoA statement and let us know the $full base tuition amount? Not any of the other line items, just the base tuition for 25-26. Tx!

Cost and Tuition | Johns Hopkins Student Financial Support don’t need the coa it’s published on their website.

Would you still consider JHU [BME or chemBio] if you not *100% sure now * that you want to stick to pursue medschool(or research) after undergrad ? In other words, is it a wise decision to pay full sticker at cost of 92k x 4 yrs just to find 4 yrs later that the path that you decided will be (to take a job in ) industry ?
