Joint Science Department

I’m not pre-med but the JSD is great- it comprises of Pitzer, CMC, and Scripps. Faculty offices are set up where there are study areas right next to it so that you can study then easily go in and ask questions. Science is strong at Scripps, and biology is one of the most popular majors. There is pre-med advising and from what I’ve heard it’s wonderful, and in the past years the acceptance rate to first or second choice med school is 100% or nearly 100%.

As historymom said, I’m in the AISS class so if you’re interested in multiple sciences take a look. If you are pre-med though, the AISS class is iffy because from what I’ve heard, med schools look for different things and some do not like interdisciplinary classes. It really depends, and if you go and have pre-med advising they will talk to you about it.
