<p>I think having a minor in journalism is fine for becoming a journalist b/c you get the training you need while still getting a broad liberal arts curriculum that makes you more knowledgeable. You also can major in an area that might be helpful for journalism (english, political science, etc). All of this combined with hands on experience working for the student paper, other school publications, and internships will prepare you to be a competetive journalist.</p>
