<p>I think the broadcast program here is great. You are surrounded by students who are passionate about journalism and the faculty are incredibly experienced. For example, the professor for my Broadcast Writing class last term is also the producer for the local NBC 11 o’clock news. My professor for Print Writing used to be the Op-Ed page editor at the Los Angeles Times. </p>

<p>Outside of class, I’ve been working with Annenberg TV News, which airs a 30 minute newscast four nights a week. That’s been a great chance to practice writing and editing video, all in a real newsroom environment using industry-standard software. </p>

<p>The school can be competitive to get into, especially if you are a girl. I think that around 75% of Annenberg students are female. </p>

<p>I had been co-editor of my high school newspaper for two years and done summer programs in video and documentary film. A demonstrated interest in journalism is crucial when applying. Here are some stats about this year’s freshman class:</p>
